Fundraising Friday

For this week’s Fundraising Friday we are saying a big well done to some of our excellent fundraisers!

Firstly, congratulations to Leanne Daly (pictured below) who completed the Market Harborough Half Marathon and raised over £750 for The Hearing Implant Programme at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB).

Leanne chose to raise money for this department as they will soon be helping her two year old niece, Lyla, to hear properly for the first time by fitting her with cochlear implants.

Leanne said: “The race was really tough and I’ve got a very sore foot, but it was all worth it for the amount raised for little Lyla and QEHB’s Hearing Department.”

Next is a shout out to Stuart Adams, Charlotte Finlayson (pictured below), Jim Hill and friends who have completed a range of gruelling events including the Birmingham Half Marathon, Dubai Marathon and Stratford Half Marathon to raise funds in memory of their mother, Patricia who fought kidney cancer for 11 years.

The fundraisers have so far raised over £2,600 and that total is set to rise as they take on another challenge, the Birmingham International Marathon on 15 October 2017.

Stuart explained: “We are raising money for QEHB’s Cancer Appeal, the treatment Mum received from Dr. Dan Ford and his team was second to none and we want to give back in whatever way we can.”
