Generous patient donates television

William Walsh is a regular patient at Heartlands Hospital, and makes frequent visits to the outpatients department to see the ear, nose and throat (ENT) team. William has very kindly donated a television for the waiting area, to entertain patients waiting for their appointments.

William said: “I wanted to make a difference and I think that the television will help to calm people down and distract them whilst they wait for their appointments.”

Sue Watson is a nurse within the ENT department, and she said: “We are all absolutely delighted with this donation. It will make a big difference to our patients, who are often nervous whilst they wait for their appointments. Our thanks go to William for his incredibly kind donation.”

Sabrina Hussaine, Fundraising Officer at Heartlands Hospital Charity, said: “Thank you William for your generosity in gifting this wonderful television to the department. We know that ‘added extras’ such as TVs can really help to improve patients’ hospital experiences, helping them to relax before their appointments.”
