Great time had at the Aegon Classic

On Monday 13 June thousands of children, families and business professionals joined QEHB Charity at the first day of the Aegon Classic, as some of the world’s most famous tennis players battled it out on the court.

QEHB Charity was generously supported for a second year by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) by being able to raise vital funds for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham by selling special discounted tickets for the event.

Groups of school children, families, adults, professionals and sport-lovers gathered to enjoy the busy sporting event, which took place at Edgbaston Priory Club.

Anyone who purchased a QEHB Charity ticket to the tennis tournament was automatically entered into a free prize draw, which was won by Jan Kurjan from Birmingham.

Justine Davy, Head of Fundraising, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who purchased a QEHB Charity ticket for joining us at the Aegon Classic and for helping us support patients at the QE. It was wonderful to be kindly supported by the Lawn Tennis Association for a second year, and I’d like to thank them on behalf of the Charity for their ongoing support.

“Finally I’d like to say a huge well done to Jan for winning two one day tickets to the ATP World Tour Finals at the O2 in London. We hope he has a fantastic time!”
