Help bring Christmas to the QE this festive season

christmas campaign logo smaller 80,000 patients will visit the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham over the festive period. From elderly care patients with few or no family members, to children receiving radiotherapy, a gruelling course of treatments five days a week for six weeks, over 1,000 patients will face the prospect of spending Christmas Day in the QE. With your support QEHB Charity wants to make this extra special, by ‘decking the wards with boughs of holly’ and bringing Christmas cheer to patients and families. The campaign aims to make the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham more festive over the Christmas period, making life more comfortable for patients and their families. £25 will buy a Christmas Tree and decorations for the hospital, a donation of £10 could help us deliver Christmas gifts to our young patients including children and teenagers with cancer, and £5 will pay for a TV Card for a patient to watch Christmas films and the Queen's Speech on Christmas Day. Francis Tavenor, who received a life-saving liver transplant on Boxing Day at the QE, believes that the sharing element of Christmas is an integral part of the hospital’s ethics: “This campaign focuses on the community aspect of Christmas: it will bring happiness to patients, and reward staff for their hard work.” Please visit www.qechristmas.org and donate today or text ‘XMAS01 £2’ to 70070.
