Jaguar Land Rover team raise funds to support premature babies

A team from Jaguar Land Rover in Solihull have raised an incredible £1,820 on World Prematurity Day to support the Neonatal Unit at Heartlands Hospital which provides care for newborn babies and offers a welcoming and friendly environment to parents and families.

The team were led in their fundraising efforts by Darren Hemming, whose daughter Florence was born on the unit last year. Darren said: "I wanted to do something special to raise money for the amazing unit that cared for my daughter Florence.

"It was fantastic to see the support that my colleagues gave to the cause. We had a whip-round on three shifts and mangaged to raise £1,820 which I'm really pleased with!"

Fundraising Manager at Heartlands Hospital Charity, Sian Averill said: "Huge thanks go to Darren and the team from Jaguar Land Rover for their generous donations. This money will go a long way to providing 'added extras' for babies, families and staff on the unit.

"Heartlands Hospital Charity works closely with the Neonatal Unit to provide the best care possible for babies and their mothers. Alongside providing comfortable feeding chairs and soft furnishings to make the unit as comfortable as possible, the Charity plans to refurbish the feeding room and parents garden. We are only able to do this thanks to the amazing support we receive from people like Darren and the team from JLR."
