Join the 5K Family Fun Run for patients with skin cancer!

On Sunday 12 June, local fundraisers and supporters of patients with skin cancer are invited to participate in a charity 5k Family Fun Run, raising much-needed donations for QE Fighting Skin Cancer, which is part of QEHB Charity.

The fun run has been organised in support of Becky Giddins, who has received treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for skin cancer following her first diagnosis in 2007. Over the years, Becky and her husband Kev have raised thousands for QE Fighting Skin Cancer in a bid to help other patients with skin cancer through pioneering research into new drugs and treatments.

Laura Power, Senior Fundraiser at QEHB Charity, said: “The fun run is sure to be a lovely day; Becky and Kev are inspirational fundraisers and we’re so grateful they have chosen to support research into new cancer drugs at the QE through our QE Fighting Skin Cancer fund.”

Adults, children and dogs are all welcome to take part in the five kilometre fun run in Wyre Forest, Bewdley. Attendees are asked to arrive at 9am for a 9.30am start and fancy dress in a ‘red theme’ is optional. There will be a shorter route available for children to complete, with stickmen to find along the way!

Entry is £12, which will include a goody bag and memento on the day. To sign up, contact Alison Thomas at alison@thefrontendlab.com with your name, age, contact number and emergency contact details by Saturday 30 April.

You can also donate to Becky and Kev’s JustGiving page here.
