Leo’s rainbow t-shirts raise huge sum for NHS Superheroes

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 we have been amazed by some of the fantastic fundraising ideas that our supporters have come up with to allow them to raise money whilst keeping themselves and their loved ones safe.

Five-year-old Leo Dunigan, who lives in Selly Park, has been selling tie dye t-shirts that he has been making at home with his dad Stu, and has raised an incredible £550 to support doctors and nurses at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

The rainbow has become a symbol of the times in which we live, and now Leo is putting the rainbow onto t-shirts with the eye-catching patterns that he has been creating! Speaking to BBC WM, his dad Stu said that Leo decided to create the t-shirts for his family and a friend, and then they started to get orders from their neighbours.

“They were sort of noticed by other people up and down the road who started putting in their orders because they quite like the look and the brightness that he was bringing to the street.”

Leo now has orders for over 70 t-shirts, and Norton Printwear in Coleshill is supplying the family with the materials they need to make their beautiful shirts.

Well done Leo, keep up the good work!

The money that Leo has raised will help us to do more for our NHS Superheroes at this really difficult time. You can donate to support Leo’s fundraising here.
