Local Islamic Centre supports QEHB Charity

The congregation of Jamatia Islamic Centre in Woodlands Road, Sparkhill, has raised hundreds of pounds for QEHB Charity. The centre has, in the past, focused upon fundraising for highly worthy causes abroad, such as raising money to help those displaced by the conflict in Syria. At the turn of the new year, the centre decided to have a collection for two local charities: Birmingham Children’s Hospital and QEHB Charity. The centre is also considering starting homeless and food bank projects in the near future. The collection raised an amazing £1050.82, which has been split equally between the two charities. Michael Tivey, Fundraising Officer at QEHB Charity, said: “The religious community in Birmingham has often supported the charity, and we incredibly grateful to Jamatia Islamic Centre for this brilliant donation. It will make a great difference to patients and staff at the QE.” To find out more about any of the causes QEHB Charity supports, please click here.
