Local news agent supports cancer patients

Local news agent, Smiths News, Marston Green, has kindly supported children and young people with cancer, as well as cancer patients treated on CyberKnife, by donating to the  Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) Charity.

The generous donation was raised through initiatives at the shop, including selling teas, coffees and car parking. In addition, David DeSouza, who was leaving the business, donated his leaving collection which he also then match funded to create a donation of £300.

In total, Joanne Bennett and David DeSouza presented a cheque to QEHB Charity's Fundraising Officer, Michael Tivey, for an incredible £1,006.

Michael said: “We are really grateful to the team at Smiths News for their dedication in supporting cancer patients at QEHB. On behalf of the Charity I'd like to thank them for their continued support.”
