Mitzvah Day 365 is a Jewish organisation dedicated to volunteering across the country throughout the year with other faith groups, hence building links in communities. It is a focal point in the calendars of British Jews across the country, with the annual call to action in 2015 taking place on the 22nd November. Founded in 2005 by Laura Marks and becoming a registered charity in 2008, it has gone from strength to strength over the past few years.

On Friday 20th November, the atrium at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham played host to those volunteering for Mitzvah Day 365. The volunteers served warm beverages and cake to those visiting and working at the hospital, as well as giving musical performances on violins! All monies raised were donated to QEHB Charity’s Christmas Appeal.

The event was incredibly popular. Justine Davy, Head of Fundraising at QEHB Charity, said: “Mitzvah Day 365 is a wonderful organisation, building friendships in communities across the nation through various volunteering events. On behalf of QEHB Charity, I would like to thank Mitzvah Day 365 for their generosity in choosing to support the Christmas Campaign.”
