Morris Centre raises money for QEHB Charity!

The team from the Morris Centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham have raised an incredible £166 for the hospital charity after hosting a fantastic NHS Big 7Tea party to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the NHS. The team put on an incredible spread of cakes as well as fruit options for the more health conscious.

The Morris Centre is a leisure club for the members of staff at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, partner NHS Trusts and the friends and family of members. The club aims to provide the best facilities, services and value for money, all in a convenient location on the UHB site, their main aim is to make lives healthier and encourage exercise as part of your lifestyle.

The centre has a large range of facilities including a 22 metre swimming pool, a gym kitted with both a range of cardiovascular and strength equipment, a squash and tennis court and an outdoor 5-a-side football pitch.
The team at the Morris Centre raised the donation during the Big 7Tea party to mark the 70th anniversary of the NHS. Karla Hall, manager at the Morris Centre said: “We had such a great day fundraising for the hospital charity, as a centre we aim to promote a healthier lifestyle, therefore we supplied fruit salad cups for the more health conscious  gym goers… but the cakes sold out very fast!”

Grace Holness, Communications Assistant at QEHB Charity, said: "Thank you so much to the staff at the Morris Centre for hosting such a successful tea party! The cakes looked delicious and the amount raised will contribute greatly to the ‘added extras’ that the hospital charity provides. Well done team!”
