Mother and Son raise an amazing £100 following the Smarties September challenge.

During September, Heather Bishop and her son, Texas, took part in the Smarties September challenge. Smarties September was a delicious way of fundraising for Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity, Heartlands Hospital Charity, Solihull Hospital Charity and Good Hope Hospital Charity.

Fundraisers were encouraged to pick up a free tube of Smarties, enjoy the delicious chocolate inside, then fill the tube up with change and return the tube accordingly. All of the money that was raised from Smarties September helped to kick-start the hospital charity’s Christmas appeal, which runs throughout the festive period.
Heather and Texas, a patient here at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham did exceptionally well in fundraising for the appeal, handing in well over 20 tubes and still have many more to collect!  Overall, they have currently raised an amazing £100 for Queen Elizabeth Hospital Charity.

Jessica Harris, Fundraising Hub Officer said: “Thank you both for the amazing contribution to our Smarties September Challenge. The monies raised will greatly contribute to providing added extras for patients and staff”
