Nando’s team fundraise for military patients

The team at Nando’s in Selly Oak have been fundraising for Fisher House since they opened in 2018, and are now making the climb up Mount Snowdon to raise even more money for Fisher House.

A team of six team members are taking part in the challenge to help more families stay in the home away from home for military patients and their families.

Along with climbing the mountain, the team have already raised money by donating raffle prizes and have held fundraising events including a FIFA tournament in the restaurant where they played from 10pm until 2am!

Sophie Carroll, Senior Fundraiser at QEHB Charity, said: “A huge thank you goes to Nando’s in Selly Oak for taking part in so many fundraising activities and even creating their own to raise money for Fisher House.

“The money the team raise will go towards helping more families stay at Fisher House and making sure they get the support they need whilst going through such difficult times.”

Fisher House enables families to quickly settle into a routine knowing that their loved one is getting the best quality of care at QEHB and that they can stay nearby whilst they are being treated.

The house was opened in 2013 and has since provided almost 24,000 night’s stay for over 4,000 people, each night costs £25 for a family to stay.

The house has 18 bedrooms and offers a supportive environment where residents have the space to relax, cook their own food, and be a short walk away from the hospital whilst also being in a homely place.

Families have the opportunity to spend time with other families who are be going through a similar experience which can help comfort them during this time.

If you would like to help Nando’s in making sure even more families get to stay at Fisher House, you can join one of our events here, create your own, or donate now at hospitalcharity.org.
