Sainsbury's Northfield continues to support Fisher House

Sainsbury's, December 2015 (Pictured: The Cantando Voices Choir) Sainsbury’s Northfield has been supporting Fisher House, the ‘home away from home' for military patients and their families, for a number of years. On Saturday 19th and Monday 21st December, volunteers and members of the QEHB Charity team collected money at the store entrances and packed customer’s bags in return for a donation. As well as this, the Cantando Voices Choir (a community choir based in the South of Birmingham) performed in the foyer, singing a collection of well-known carols. Volunteers from Lloyds Bank in Birmingham, The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association in the West Midlands, and QEHB Charity volunteers were incredibly helpful in making the two days a great success. The amount raised from the two days was a fantastic £980. Michael Tivey, Fundraising Officer at QEHB Charity, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Sainsbury’s Northfield for their continuing and valued support of Fisher House. A fantastic amount was raised for the project, and on behalf of QEHB Charity I want to thank Sainsbury’s Northfield, Cantando Voices Choir, and all of the volunteers for making the two days such a success.” Debbee Bowyer, the store’s PR Ambassador, said: “We were delighted to once again be hosting some wonderful fundraisers for Fisher House. It is a brilliant cause, and we were treated to some wonderful renditions of our favourite carols!” To find out about any of the appeals QEHB Charity supports, click here.
