Sainsbury’s Four Oaks raises money for new Glideaway® beds at Good Hope

Sainsbury’s Local in Four Oaks chose Friends of Good Hope Hospital as their charity partner of the year and have so far raised £6,020 which will go towards new Glideaway® beds for Good Hope Hospital.

The beds are special foldaway guest beds that can be used on the wards for when relatives want to stay close to their family members whilst they are in hospital.

The beds are designed for daily heavy duty use and conform to the strict infection control and health and safety standards set by the hospital, whilst offering a comfortable night’s sleep for people of all ages. The beds allow more family members to stay alongside their loved ones whilst they are being treated, which will be particularly important on the palliative care and children’s wards.

Laura Power, Fundraising Manager for Good Hope Hospital Charity, said: “A huge thank you to Friends of Good Hope Hospital who have raised enough money with Sainsbury’s Local to buy some more Glideaway® beds for the hospital. The beds mean so much to some relatives who want to be near their family members whilst they are receiving treatments or are in palliative care.”
