Singer Cliff Antony raises an incredible £565 from virtual gig for UHB Charity

Singer Cliff Antony entertained friends, family and followers via a Facebook Live last month with an amazing live streamed performance. In return he asked for donations to be made to a Justgiving page to support the work of the Centre for Rare Diseases at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.  His virtual event raised a fantastic £565!

Cathryn Worth, Fundraising Manager, said: “A huge thank you to Cliff and Angela for all their support and hard work raising such a great amount of money. This will make a real difference and allow the charity to continue to support our patients being treated at the Centre for Rare Diseases at QEHB."

After raising £1 million to fund the creation of the Centre for Rare Diseases UHB Charity continues its support of the centre.  Cliff and Angela’s generous donation helps to fund ‘added extras’ that the NHS can’t provide, as well as the ongoing running costs of the centre.

The Centre for Rare Diseases is based within the new Institute of Translational Medicine (ITM) which is dedicated to developing and implementing ground-breaking treatments, technologies and techniques to benefit patient care. It brings together multi-speciality and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver care of patients with rare diseases and provides highly-organised, one-stop clinics where patients can undergo pre-planned diagnostic tests and see all specialists and the multi-disciplinary team relevant to their care, in one visit.
