Spitfire Motorcycle Club continue generous support of military families and young patients

The Spitfire Motorcycle Club has supported Fisher House since 2015, helping to raise funds to support the home away from home for military patients and their families at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

Since 2015, the bikers have raised over £12,000 for Fisher House, which equates to over 500 nights of accommodation for UK military patients and their families during their time of need.

Spitfire MCC raise money through the family fun day that they hold each August Bank Holiday weekend, with this year’s event raising over £1,200. The Club held a raffle and tombola to raise the money, with local businesses donating items to help the cause.

At Christmas, the generous bikers make trips to Heartlands Hospital and Good Hope Hospital to drop off toys and games for the children who will be in hospital over the Christmas period. Their generosity means that children in hospital will receive a special Christmas gift this year.

Justine Davy, Head of Fundraising for Fisher House UK and the hospital charity, said: “The amazing people at Spitfire MCC have been incredible supporters of Fisher House and the young children who are treated at our hospitals for years. Their support has been crucial in helping us to provide the very best for our military families, as well as helping to make Christmas easier for children who need treatment.”

You can help us bring Christmas to our hospitals this year by visiting virtualchristmas.org where you can buy a gift for a young child, or even fund a night’s accommodation at Fisher House.
