The John Smith Airway Award

UHB Charity is so proud to support the John Smith Airway Award.

The John Smith Airway Paper of the Year Award goes to the best research paper from young anaesthetists across the world and is awarded at the annual meeting of the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland.

The winning anaesthetist gets the John Smith Airway Award and a prize of £500. The award pays loving tribute to Dr John Smith and is designed to inspire the next generation of anaesthetists and encourage innovation in the field.

On the anniversary of John’s passing, we like to remember his work in training and mentoring anaesthetists around the country. If anyone would like to support the work of the John Smith Airway Award or find out more information, please visit his tribute page here.
