The Soldiers' Charity makes generous donation to Fisher House

Fisher House, the home away from home for military patients and their families at QEHB, has received a very generous £10,000 in sponsorship from The Soldiers' Charity. The money donated from the charity will help QEHB Charity to continue to go 'over and above' for military patients and their families.

The Soldiers' Charity has now supported Fisher House for three years, with overall donations now reaching £30,000 and are one of the military charities that have continue to support Fisher House through generous donations.

The Soldiers' Charity give a lifetime of support to soldiers and veterans from the British Army, and their immediate families when they are in need, supporting causes and charities that sustain the British Army family at home and around the world.

Fisher House is an eighteen bedroom property on the site of QEHB where the families of military patients being treated at the hospital can stay free of charge. It has been the busiest year on record for Fisher House, which celebrates its fifth year of being open later in 2018.

Fisher House welcomes visitors of all ages from around the country. Many stay for only a night or two, others for much longer. Regardless of the length of stay, Fisher House is an oasis of calm where families can relax and spend time together in a comfortable and spacious property.

Justine Davy, Head of Fundraising for QEHB Charity said: "Fisher House can only be provided thanks to the generosity of donors and supporters, huge thanks go to The Soldiers' Charity for the generous donation that will allow us to go 'over and above' for the families that stay at Fisher House."
