Shashi Rana, Skin Cancer Trial Coordinator at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, is taking on the epic challenge of climbing Mount Snowdon in the dark! Shashi, whose post at the hospital is funded by the Charity, decided to take on this mountain challenge alongside her partner Phil who also works in the NHS.

Shashi and Phil will be part of the team from QEHB travelling to Mount Snowdon from Birmingham to begin their climb at 2am, ready to reach the summit of the highest mountain in Wales as the sun rises. Shashi and Phil have already raised a fantastic £500 and hope to raise even more.

Shashi said: "I wanted to give something back to the Charity who have funded my role here at the hospital. Phil and I thought that the Sunrise Snowdon Challenge would be a great event. I wanted to take on this challenge to support QEHB Charity so that we can continue to benefit the lives of many patients by providing support in lots of different ways.

"Phil has done a few events for charity in the past, usually taking on the Birmingham Half Marathon. Those that know me are aware that I love my sleep so this is truly a big challenge!"

Fundraising Officer at QEHB Charity, Sophie Carroll said: "It is wonderful to see members of staff from the hospital take on the Sunrise Snowdon Challenge, especially Shashi as her post has been funded by the Charity!
