Birmingham Team take on Virtual Transplant Games 2020!

This week, members of the Birmingham Adult Transplant Sports Team have been taking part in the Virtual Westfield Health British Transplant Games 2020!

Thousands of transplanted athletes were due to take part in the 43rd annual British Transplant Games this week, which is the flagship event of Transplant Sport. The Games could not go ahead due to the ongoing pandemic, but participants were encouraged to film themselves taking part in an event from home.

The Birmingham Team got involved with their own activities such as archery, golf, swimming and cycling, and whilst the team were sad not to be taking part in the Games in Coventry, it was a good opportunity for everyone to get active.

Martin Searle, Team Manager for the Birmingham Adult Transplant Sports Team, said: "It was great to see everyone getting involved with the Virtual Games from home. We all understand why we cannot be together as a team this year, and the Virtual Games have offered us all the chance to have some fun and help to raise awareness of the amazing power of Transplant Sport."
