The Stan Bowley Trust donate a staggering £30,000!

UHB Charity is extremely grateful to have received the incredible sum of £30,000 from the Stan Bowley Trust.
The cheque was presented to UHB Charity at the Stan Bowley Trust’s annual ball which sees supporters from across the country flock to donate to their life saving fundraising, as well as have a fun-packed evening! The astonishing amount was raised from various fundraising efforts throughout the year.
The Stan Bowley Trust was formed by friends and family of Alan “Stan” Bowley, a former Staffordshire police officer who sadly died of cancer. Since then, the Trust has been fundraising to bring Cyberknife treatment to patients in the North West and the Midlands. The Trust was instrumental in helping UHB Charity bring Cyberknife to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham in 2013. The CyberKnife machine is able to treat small well defined tumours located in traditionally difficult-to-reach parts of the body which if damaged would have devastating effects. It is commonly used to treat selected brain tumours and increasingly used to treat other tumours around the body.
This latest generous donation will be used to fund further Cyberknife research at the Queen Elizabeth, including research into paediatric brain tumours.
